About the Summit

What is SANGAM?

SANGAM, the South Asia Network Global Annual Meet, is the flagship summit of SouthAsia-IEN: a global platform where educators, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders gather to exchange ideas, build partnerships, and drive innovation in higher education.

The word Sangam (संगम) means confluence: the sacred meeting point of rivers. SANGAM claims that heritage with intent: it is a place of gathering, where distinct streams of knowledge, culture, and ambition meet and become something greater than any one of them alone.

Through curated dialogue, peer-reviewed sessions, and high-impact networking, SANGAM creates a singular space where global perspectives meet South Asian scholarship, hospitality, and vision.

SANGAM: the acronym is functional; the word is poetic. Both are true. The summit is held annually as the convening moment of a global movement in international education.
